![]() I can't see anyone listening to a mixed track and saying "hmm, it's good but that sample sounds a bit crap.I wonder if it's a direct rip or if they just recorded it analogue?". The number of people that use MP3s are sample sources, you're going to be ahead of the game as it is. For the amount of hassle you're going to put yourself through, I'd just go analogue and forget about it. It can play many movie files, not only MPEGs it can convert MPEG. Simplest way of course would be to use an external DVD player, and go SPDIF in to your interface, if you've got the right connections.īut to be honest - for a 5 sec sample, I can't really see a great loss of quality by just sampling analogue. MPEG Streamclip is a powerful free video converter, player, editor for Mac and Windows. Pre conversion, but I've no idea what resampling might go on. There is a Mac program, the name of which escapes me at the moment, that allows you to record the currently playing audio stream - useful for capturing streams from websites etc. I don't know of any program that does exactly what you want - you might find something that allows you to rip just the chapter containing the sound effect you want. Is what im looking for exist? It would help if you specified Mac/PC to start with. (there are many programs that can do this, but i would really like something where i can specify the start and end point and have a direct rip) I also do not want something that only rips/converts the whole video file, i cannot be ripping a whole DVD for a 5 second effect sound. I do not want to resample the sounds (as in going through my audio interface to capture) i would like to have the sound file in its original recorded format and quality. Truth is, everybody is going to hurt you you just gotta find the ones worth suffering for.Im looking for software that can capture/rip audio from DVDs as well as other compressed video formats (such as AVI divx etc.) ![]() Life feels like a movie, things seem unreal, or hazy, life is a dream or an illusion of sorts. ![]() We are the all singing, all dancing, crap of the world."ĭepersonalization: feeling divorced from both the world and from their own identity and physicality.
